The History of Fruit Growing in Soubetsu
At first apples trees were grown in Sobetsu, and by 1876 there was no more space for cultivation. The oldest apple tree in Sobetsu is said to have been planted around 1890 at "Hamada Gardenh, which has been in use for over 100 years.
